Medic ?
So at yesterday work we had a Dept 50 page (medical) to the bakery. Turns out that an associate sliced part of her thumb off in the meat slicer. Since we were the only First aide trained there, Aric and Myself had to fix her up. She declined to go to the hospital so it was all on us. Aric stood there going through everything and i could clearly tell he did not know what to do. I stepped up to the plate n gave her gauze to keep pressure on the wound so it would stop bleeding. After like 5 minutes it slowed enough to where i could try n bandage her up and send her home. I cleaned out the wound n then cut a gauze pad in half and put it over the wound and then got some gauze wrap and wrapped the fingure up an taped it so she wouldnt have to hold it. I havnt taken many medic courses but I think I did a damn good job, that sucker looked like a doc at a hospital wrapped her up. I was very proud of myself.
I checked up on her today and she thanked me and she was able to downgrade to a regular bandage. It got me thinking. Everytime im put in a medic position i usually come through and know what to do and i enjoy doing it.
Maybe I should be a Medic if i like it so much?
